Top-10 finish in Topless 100 prelim at Batesville Motor Speedway
Stormy Scott followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) on Thursday evening to take part in the 28th annual Comp Cams Topless 100 weekend. With 48 cars on hand for the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Scott edged his way into the show with the third and final transfer spot in his heat race. Wheeling his way into the Top-10, Stormy passed six cars in the 30-lap affair to register a ninth place finish.
The following night for another $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Stormy timed in second fastest in his time trial before placing second in his heat behind Kyle Bronson. Fading one spot in the 30-lap A-Main, Scott posted an 11th place finish.
With preliminary results from Thursday and Friday setting the grid for Saturday night’s main event, Scott was 10th overall in passing points, which positioned him 10th on the starting grid for the Comp Cams Topless 100. With $40,000 on the line, Stormy dropped six spots in the 100-lapper to record a 16th place outing.
