Scott charges from 14th to runner-up finish at Route 66

Stormy Scott rolled his Mesilla Valley Transportation No. 2s Modified into Route 66 Motor Speedway over the weekend for a regular night of USRA Modified competition.

Facing a 16-car field, Scott finished fifth in his heat race, placing him on the eighth row for the feature. From there, he put on an impressive charge, advancing 14 positions in the 20-lap main event to finish second. Over the final five circuits, Scott closed in on race leader Phillip Houston, ultimately taking the checkered flag just 0.841 seconds behind.
